Perry + Carlson Gallery 2025 AXIAL BALANCE
In her artist statement about this exhibit Susan wrote:
"My work explores a quiet symmetry~
the invisible axis from which life unfolds.
The seed, as both origin and microcosm is a circular form inviting us to consider the tension between stillness and becoming...between the contained and the infinite"
Perry + Carlson Gallery 2023 UNRESOLVED: precarious balance
Curated from three sets of new work, this exhibit is about this unresolved moment in time.
Five 6’x6’ circular pieces TILT are Inspired by the axis tilt of the planet and its changing angle with climate change.
Seven large-format drawings PRECARIOUS BALANCE are reminders to remain fluid, to continue to flow, and to relish the constancy of rebirth. They are personal and universal.

San Juan Island Museum of Art
Susan Singleton, Hannah Alex-Glasser, and Kandis Susol exhibited in the group show, Substrate: Underlying Currents, for the Nichols Gallery at the San Juan Islands Museum of Art. The artists’ close association, cultural influences, and overlapping philosophies brought a beautiful harmony to the exhibit, creating a quiet but powerful dialogue with their nearly monochromatic schema, drawing the viewer in, layer after layer, into the complexities of their stunning pieces of work.

Botanical Origins
20 pieces from the series Lexicon Botanical.
Singleton’
s inspiration springs from the natural world with its
intricate simplicity, balance, textures, scale and light. Using
handmade papers and paint, she builds her artwork as layered
architectural surfaces, each piece a unique portal recording time, light
and air.
Perry+Carlson Gallery 2017 Tears for the World
Singleton exhibited her Ziggurat series, large-scale ‘zen-like’ works made from layers of paper, paint and stitching, with fellow artists Kandis Susol and Hannah Alex-Glasser .
Perry+Carlson Gallery 2018. Liminal State
In this solo show at Perry and Carlson, the artist exhibited 4 shrouds, 6 ziggurats, and 4 vessels. The works were all created in what Singleton describes as a liminal state, a state of mind that is focused and conscious yet different than anything else in her experience. It may be close to meditation but it is not always reviving. It can be an unsettling process as the ideas and materials intersect. The artist holds this liminal state in high regard as a practice of passing through the thresholds of discovery.
