THE ZIGGURATS

Singleton calls her monumental paper works ZIGGURATS—evocative, wall-based compositions that recall ancient architecture, weathered facades, and excavated surfaces. Installed at scale, the Ziggurats have appeared in distinguished settings including the Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; the St. Regis Princeville, Kauai; and Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, as well as in hundreds of notable private collections and public institutions worldwide.

Described as ‘zen-like’ the large-format Ziggurats have a classic formal composition with depth of color and texture. The work marks time, aging, the study of surfaces both familiar and curious. This art is quiet, meditative and calm.
